penna power plant ramanathapuram

The ability of watertube boilers about penna power plant ramanathapuram to generate superheated steam makes these boilers particularly attractive in applications that require dry, high-pressure, high-energy steam, including steam turbine power generation”.Owing to their superb working properties, the use of watertube boilers is highly preferred in the following major areas:

Variety of process applications in industries Chemical processing divisions Pulp and Paper manufacturing plants Refining units

Besides, they are frequently employed in power generation plants where large quantities of steam (ranging up to 500 kg/s) having high pressures i.e. approximately 16 megapascals (160 bar) and high temperatures reaching up to 550 °C are generally required. For example, the Ivanpah solar-power station uses two Rentech Type-D watertube boilers.

AERL is an IPP promoted by the Ind Bharath group of companies. The company operates a 95 MW natural gas based combined cycle power plant at Valantharavai, Distt. Ramnad, Tamil Nadu. The plant which was implemented at a cost of around Rs. 3 billion commenced commercial operations in Feb 2006. Earlier it used to supply its power to group captive clients but since Jan 2009 it has been selling power to TNEB on merchant basis. The company sources its fuel from ONGC vide a fuel supply agreement (FSA) which is valid till Dec 2010. The plant used to operate in the PLF range of 50-55%, however in past three months it has been approaching full load capacity on account of higher gas availability.
